Monmouth Town Mayor’s Charity Curry Night

The Monmouth Town Mayor’s first charity fundraising event at The Misbah on Priory Street, Monmouth was attended by more than 30 people last Sunday.  This popular restaurant provided a delicious buffet of starters and main course curries. All proceeds from the food will go to The Mayor’s chosen charities – SSAFA and Bridges Centre charities.  Those present ranged from primary school children to pensioners and the relaxed, friendly atmosphere was thoroughly enjoyed by all.  Thanks must go to The Misbah for hosting the event and Monmouth’s own Bees for Development who kindly donated a bottle of blackberry mead as a raffle prize.  This was a great start to Felicity Cotton’s programme of charity events.

Opening of Newly-Improved Drybridge Play Area!

Monmouth Town Council are pleased to announce the re-opening of the newly updated Drybridge Play Area.  On Wednesday 30th November at 11am the Town Mayor will be there to cut the ribbon alongside Town Councillors and Officers from Monmouthshire County Council, who have all worked hard to make the improvements.  The play area has recently benefited from some significant developments, including new safety resurfacing, which was part funded by an S106 grant (money distributed by Monmouthshire County Council as a result of residential development locally), along with a new toddler swing and a fully accessible child swing, paid for by the Town Council.  Monmouth Town Council would like to extend a warm welcome to all who would like to attend and hope to see the play area being used and enjoyed.
