 IT IS WITH DEEP SORROW THAT HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN ANNOUNCES THE DEATH OF HER BELOVED HUSBAND, HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS THE PRINCE PHILIP, DUKE OF EDINBURGH. HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY THIS MORNING AT WINDSOR CASTLE. THE ROYAL FAMILY JOIN WITH PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD IN MOURNING HIS LOSS.

Monmouth Town Mayor, Councillor Mat Feakins, on behalf of the Town Council: “Councillors and staff are deeply saddened by the passing of HRH Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh. The Duke served our country and our Queen with dedication and distinction over many decades. He leaves a remarkable legacy in the many initiatives he instigated or supported during his lifetime. Our thoughts and deepest sympathy are with Her Majesty the Queen and her family at this very sad time.”
