Monmouth Mayor's Flood Recovery Fund Update

I would like to extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who has so generously donated to the Mayor’s Flood Recovery Fund. The level of kindness and community spirit shown has been overwhelming, and every penny raised will make a real difference to residents and businesses affected by the November floods.

An incredible £152,000.00 has been raised so far, a phenomenal amount and donations are continuing to come in. This amazing amount reflects the compassion and resilience of the Monmouth community, who has truly risen to the challenge, standing shoulder to shoulder in support of those most in need.

Phase 1 has closed for applications and we are currently working carefully through every application, working to specific criteria, to ensure that money is distributed fairly, transparently, and prioritising those most in need. Successful applicants will start to receive payments w/c 15 December 2025.

Special thanks go to Deputy Mayor Robert Barrell and Monmouth Town Council members and officers for their diligent work in supporting the management and allocation of the fund and their commitment to a swift and fair process.

Due to the generosity of those donating and the ongoing fundraising activity, the decision has been made to extend the closing date on the JustGiving fundraising page from Sunday 14 December 2025 to the middle January 2026. . However please be reassured that people can still donate after the closing date directly to Monmouth Town Council, if they would like to do so. Please email or phone Monmouth Town Council for further details should you require them.

This fund has been a lifeline for many, and it stands as a testament to the strength, compassion, and unity of the Monmouth community, together we have shown what can be achieved when a town pulls together with kindness and determination.

Finally, Monmouth is open for business, our shops, cafes, restaurants and traders are ready to welcome you, please come, visit and spend your money locally, every purchase helps our recovery and supports the people who make this town so special.
