 Schedule of Events Monmouth Medieval Festival - Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July 2026, 10 am – 4.30 pm.


This much loved festival has become a staple in the Monmouth Summer calendar and this year’s festival line up will not disappoint! The Freeman of Gwent, Angevins, The Free Company of Aquitaine and Tom Livingstone, former stonemason of Chester Cathedral, will be sharing their expertise to name just a few!

Vauxhall Fields, as in previous years, will host the reenactment camp, with the. Below is the schedule on both Saturday and Sunday:

10.30 am – 11.15 am – Dressing a knight
11.00 am & 3.15 pm – Origami
11:45 am – 12:15 pm & 2.15 pm - 2.45 pm – Masonry and lime slaking
12.30 pm – 1.00 pm & 2.45 pm – 3.15 pm - Falconry Flying Displays
1.30 pm – 2.00 pm – Peasant to Lord
2.30 pm – 2.50 pm – Children in the middle ages
3.15 pm – 4.00 pm – Arming a knight
4.00 pm – 4.30 pm – Dressing an archer and archery display

Axe Throwing (payable) will also be available throughout the day on Sunday (only), and there will be traders displaying and selling arts, crafts and refreshments (see full list below). 

Monmouth Castle will host:

11.15 am - Sword Demonstration
12.00 pm – Castle Tour
1.30 pm – Kids sword school

Monnow Bridge
will be open for tours 10.00 am- 12.00 pm and 1.00 pm – 3.00 pm.

Savoy Theatre, Monmouth will be hosting special screenings of Robin Hood Prince of Thieves at 2.00 pm on Saturday & Sunday.

Twmpath

St David's Day celebrations were kicked off in style on Friday 27th Feb, with a Twmpath, or for the uninitiated, Traditional Welsh Barn Dance! 

Dechreuodd y dathliadau ar ddydd Gwener 27ain Chwefror, gyda Thwmpath, neu i'r rhai nad ydynt yn gyfarwydd â hi, Dawns Ysgubor Draddodiadol Gymreig!

St David's Day Workshops 

On Saturday 28th Feb Monmouth Town Council were proud to host a variety of Workshops to celebrate St David’s Day at Monmouth Library/Hwb. 

Ar ddydd Sadwrn 28ain Chwefror roedd Cyngor Tref Trefynwy yn falch o gynnal amrywiaeth o weithdai i ddathlu Dydd Gwyl Dewi yn Llyfrgell Trefynwy/yr Hwb.

Eisteddfod

On Sunday 1st March, Monmouth Town Council were proud to host a small Eisteddfod at the Priory Hall Monmouth.

Ar ddydd Sul 1af Mawrth, roedd Cyngor Tref Trefynwy yn falch o gynnal Eisteddfod fechan yn Neuadd y Priordy, Trefynwy.
