The Finance and Policy Committee currently has 12 committee members and meets on a Monday at
least 4 times a year. It is the committee that ensures the organisation and
finances of the Town Council are efficient, open and transparent and accountable
to the Council and wider public.
Agendas are issued on the Town Council’s website and in notice board with three clear days notice and set out the business to be transacted. All meetings are open to the public. Members of the public are welcome to speak at meetings but must make a request in writing at least the working day before the meeting.
It has responsibility for drafting the budget figures, reviewing the end of year accounts, approving policies, reviewing the Council’s systems of internal control and dealing with all staffing matters.
Staffing matters are further delegated to the Staffing Sub-Committee which meets as and when required.
